As an old-school citizen, I might not myself be able to live for several years as a vagabond and, well, a bit like a bum. But it’s not really about living at the expense of others in this lifestyle guide on hand: it’s about challenging the power of money in one's life.
The writer of the book, Tomi Astikainen, himself tried a money-free life for years and that is why his advice on an alternative way of life is worth getting to know. In the book, there is advice on getting water, food, clothes and accommodation, as well as on the need for care and relationships, among other things.
The underlying idea is trust in people, or as Astikainen puts it: trust in the universe. A sensible proposal for an attitude, because it is precisely uncertainty, fear and loneliness that make you think that money would save you from dangers - that is, from life. On the other hand, an adequate livelihood is certainly a necessary condition for experiencing basic security and so-called happiness, even according to research. This book might also help the reader to consider the situation of those who lead their whole lives below the poverty line.
All in all, this book offers a great discussion topic in a book circle. In an instant, you would find yourself pondering the most critical issues of your life: trust, interpersonal relationships, belonging, responsibility, and the world with all its human destinies.
